For those of you that got a chance to meet Dekari at the Dunbar VBS this story will make you smile. Dekari is a little boy that has been coming to the Dunbar VBS. He is the type of kid that wants to be liked and hang out with the "cool" kids. He will come and hang out and invite friends to come with him wich is awesome, but when one of those friends decides that this is not cool he leaves with them. We have just been hanging on to those time when he is there and showing him the love of Christ. Today was an awesome day in the story of the life of Dekari. We started the day playing dodgeball and Courtney was putting sun screen on Austin and Dekari came over and asked if she could put some on him. I really thought this was cool he was looking for some love and attention and he found it in something so simple. Later that day the group from The Ridge made door knockers as there craft and Dekari made one and then went home for awhile. The group thought he was just going home to get away but they soon found out different. A man came up and started talking to Alex and Coleman and said he wanted to let them know that what they were doing was making a difference. He knew Dekari and said that Dekari had been taking the things he learned at VBS and especially that day he took his door knocker home and showed his family what he made and what it said. I just want to praise God for showing us that we are in the right place and that he is working in this neighborhood and the kids around it.
