This past group to Dallas came to the area expecting to put on a VBS for the kids in the Vickery Meadows neighborhood of Dallas. They brought games and crafts with the goal of presenting the Gospel to the kids. Little did they know that God had a much bigger plan for them.
We worked with Juan Pablo, a missionary with World Impact in Dallas, who had formed some relationships with families in a nearby apartment complex. During our morning VBS the group had songs, a Bible story, crafts games and food for the kids. Only a few kids showed up on Day 1, but that was expected.

Day 2 brought more kids, but not as many as we were expecting.
Day 3 was a totally different ball game. It seemed like there were kids everywhere! Whole families even came to participate in the VBS. Juan Pablo was so encouraged by the turn out that he finally made a decision to plant a church here. He had been thinking about it for a while, but the large number of kids finally convinced him.
The group not only presented the Gospel to a huge group of kids, but they also were apart of a church plant that will minister to so many people in the area.
The church plant was also affirmed to Juan Pablo when three guys came to speak to him. The guys came because they saw how much fun the kids were having and wanted to know why. These guys were looking to do something more with their lives. They were tired of just sitting on the street all day. They were looking for purpose. That told Juan Pablo that it was time for  a church here to minister to guys just like them.
